I’m a University Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Iowa State University. I am also the director of the Iowa State University Information Assurance Center, which has been recognized by the National Security Agency as a charter Center of Academic Excellence for Information Assurance Education. I teach computer and network security and information warfare. I work on a project called ISEAGE, which is an Internet testbed to study security. I also work with high schools to increase the number of students interested in IT.
I'm also founder and CTO of a security company in Ames Iowa (Palisade Systems).
For fun I play soccer, do a little hiking, and play racquetball. I have three kids (two in college and one in high school) and have been married for over 25 years. My wife and I were both born and raised in Iowa.
